Problem description

This patch fixes the libz double-free() problem in rsync. The rsync package needs its own fix because it brings its own version of the compression library. In addition to the libz fix, this patch also includes a fix for a bug where wrong group-IDs could get used (setgroups() bug). A minor patch correction against the heap overflow bug that has been fixed with the last rsync update has been done to improve stability.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Uvh rsync.rpm
If your instances of rsyncd (the rsync server) are being started by inetd or xinetd, you do not need to restart any service.
