Problem description

Specially crafted GIF images could cause a buffer overflow and crash netpbm. It seems unlikely but not entirely impossible that this overflow can be exploited to execute arbitrary code (CVE-2008-0554).


Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fhv libnetpbm.rpm netpbm.rpm
