Problem description

This patch fixes a bug in Tcl's handling of the select() syscall when more
than 32 file descriptors need to be monitored. The bug affects Tcl code that
makes heavy use of the Tcl event loop, e.g. by having fileevent callbacks
registered for more than 32 channels at once.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh tcl.rpm tcl-devel.rpm
