Indications

This update should be installed if you want to use LDAP SAM with SAMBA.

Problem description

This patch provides the needed packages to use the updated SAMBA version from "Recommended update for SAMBA " (http://sdb.suse.de/en/psdb/html/22ce7b3fffcf3f93b2eb2c902b4bef47.html) with LDAP SAM.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using these commands:
rpm -Uvh --nodeps samba-ldap.rpm samba-ldap-client.rpm
Make sure that you have also installed the base patch for Samba (samba, smbclnt).
After you have installed this update, please restart your SAMBA services:
rcsamba restart
