Indications

A locked KDE desktop can crash and give access to the desktop.

Contraindications

Problem description

The KDE lock function can be forced to crash (at least when the
attacker has physical access to the network). The user desktop is
reachable after the crash. This crash is fixed with this update.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Uvh kdebase.rpm
