Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

Websphere needs Java >= 1.5 to run. If you don't have the Java 1.5 package installed it will be installed automatically. After installation of the Java package this Java 1.5 version will be made default for the whole system. If you want to switch the default Java from 1.5 back to 1.4.2 version you have to use the update-alternatives command to adjust symlinks in /etc/alternatives. For Websphere set JAVA_HOME and JRE_HOME variables in /etc/sysconfig/websphere-as_ce to point to Java 1.5.
This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fhv websphere-as_ce.rpm websphere-as_ce-doc.rpm websphere-as_ce-samples.rpm
