Problem description

perl-Net-DNS uses sequential IDs for DNS lookups which could cause problems with some programs like spamassassin. It potentially also simplifies DNS spoofing attacks against perl-Net-DNS (CVE-2007-3377).
Additionally, malformed compressed DNS packets could trigger an
endless loop in perl-Net-DNS (CVE-2007-3409).

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh perl-Net-DNS.rpm
