Problem description

Future kernel updates will support Kernel Module Packages (KMPs). This patch contains the kernel update tool and an update to the package manager, both of which are required so that kernel updates will preserve KMPs.
This update includes a number of fixes to make the kernel-update-tool work with online_update (a non-interactive updater), and fixes several bugs in previous versions of kernel-update-tool.

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh kernel-update-tool.rpm yast2-packagemanager.rpm yast2-packagemanager-devel.rpm
