Problem description

Memory corruption made the gnome-screensaver process crash when the screen was
locked, leaving the desktop accessible to anyone without having to enter a
password. This fixes this memory corruption, as confirmed by internal testing.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh gnome-screensaver.rpm
