Problem description

The graphics library GD used by several applications is vulnerable to
arithmetic failures that may lead to buffer overflows afterwards. The bug can
be exploited remotely by tricking a user or network application to open a
malformated PNG image. A successful exploitation results in arbitrary code
execution.

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh gd.rpm gd-devel.rpm
