Indications

If you are using Clustering and/or SMS on the OES Linux platform and you have
upgraded to the 2.6.5-7.151 kernel, you need updated kernel modules (delivered
in this patch) for clustering and sms.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

When you are using Open Enterprise Server and have upgraded your kernel to
2.6.5-7.151, you need to install this patch to get the latest kernel modules
for Novell Clustering Services and SMS. If you have not installed the newer
kernel and are using Clustering and/or SMS on Open Enterprise Server,
you have to install also the newer kernel: 2.6.5-7.151 with this patch.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below together with the updates provided by "Security update for Linux kernel" (http://sdb.suse.de/en/psdb/html/54a1f3c286aab229c33a01a912db9ffa.html)

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh novell-cluster-services-bigsmp.rpm novell-cluster-services-default.rpm novell-cluster-services-smp.rpm novell-sms-zapishim-bigsmp.rpm novell-sms-zapishim-default.rpm novell-sms-zapishim-smp.rpm
