Indications

Everybody who also wants to use the package ncompress.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

Gzip obsoletes compress, so the compress command from the ncompress package
(introduced with SP2) will get deleted if gzip is installed after ncompress or
gzip is updated. This update fixes it.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Uvh gzip.rpm
