Indications

Everyone using zlib or zlib based programs should update.

Problem description

The inflate() function of zlib handles certain input data incorrectly,
which could lead to a Denial of Service condition. Zlib below version 1.2
is not affected.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fhv zlib.rpm zlib-devel.rpm
