Problem description

An exploitable bug in mc's virtual file system (VFS) has been found which can be exploited by a specially crafted archive. The user who opens this archiv may execute arbitrary code and may therefore compromise system security.

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh mc.rpm
