Indications

Everyone using the local keyboard of a machine should update.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

Event devices are installed world readable therefore it's possible for anyone
to sniff keyboard input of locally logged in users. This update changes the
permissions of event devices so only root can read them (same issue as
CVE-2005-3631).

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh devs.rpm
