Problem description

This package update net-snmp to version 5.1.3.1. It includes many fixes from upstream.
Bugs fixed with this update:
  • Incorrect size of data pointer
  • SNMPV1 traps contain no default agent address
  • smux doesn't work on x86_64 platforms
  • unexpected length for type ASN_UNSIGNED
  • CAN-2005-2177: DoS against net-snmp if using stream sockets such as TCP
  • Missing dependency for aaa_base in net-snmp
  • Counter64 OIDs in SNMP MIBs aren't loaded

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh net-snmp,net-snmp-devel,perl-SNMP.rpm
