Problem description

Because of a change in the kernel's mmap behaviour rpm miscalculated the
md5sum of empty files. This update fixes the md5 calculation function and
adds a workaround so that rpm automatically maps such miscalculated checksums
are to the right ones.


Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh rpm.rpm rpm-devel.rpm
