Problem description

Recently a security flaw was discovered in the OpenLDAP 2.0.X LDAP server 'slapd' regarding application of access controls upon modify operations issued by authenticated users. Specifically, slapd allows a replacement of attribute values with empty values which can be used to delete any non-mandatory attribute even if deletion (but not modificaton) of the attribute is prohibited by ACLs.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Uvh openldap2.rpm
