Problem description

Passwords longer then 8 characters were not stored with full length in
/etc/security/opasswd if the history function of pam_pwcheck is enabled. This
allowed users who use passwords longer then 8 characters to reuse old
passwords.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh pam-modules.rpm
