Problem description

Fetchmail does not allocate enough space for storing expanded email addresses. This bug can be exploited by remote attackers to crash fetchmail or even to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the fetchmail process.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Uvh fetchmail.rpm
