Description

This update fixes two buffer overflows. One can be exploited locally to gain higher privileges if the binary is installed setuid/setgid. The other buffer overflow can be triggered remotely by sendung about 2 GB of data to a screen session. Please note that starting with SLES8 screen is not installed setuid/setgid any longer.

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh screen.rpm
