Problem description

The security fix for CVE-2005-3357 broke the earlier security fix for CVE-2005-2700. This update fixes the problem.
Additionally following bugs were fixed:

A bug with the "Expect" header error reporting was fixed (CVE-2006-3918), which the Apache foundation does not consider a security problem.
mod_proxy: Don't treat the 205 status-code like 204 or 304, per http-wg discussion: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/ietf-http-wg/2004JulSep/0083.html
mod_proxy: alteration of URIs when acting as a reverse proxy.
Synchronize server start and stop in /etc/init.d/apache2.
Slow apache module could cause excessive forking in worker MPM at startup.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh apache2.rpm apache2-prefork.rpm apache2-worker.rpm
