Indications

Anyone who wants to recompile bash or do a new installation of it should
update.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

A header file change in glibc with SP3 forces the bash at compile time to
change behaviour using a feature which is not supported by the current kernel.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh bash.rpm
