Indications

If you hear GNOME login sound with an unappropriate volume, you should update.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

Support for volume saving and restore in mixer applet was removed as superfluous and now GNOME session uses the system volume. GNOME login sound now should play with exactly the same volume as the whole GNOME session.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fhv gnome-applets.rpm  gnome-applets-devel.rpm
