Problem description

This patch fixes several security issues and other bugs which might lead to data corruption that have been found since version 7.2.2. The PostgreSQL development team strongly recommends upgrading at the earliest convenience.
A dump/restore of the database is not needed for this upgrade.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh postgresql.rpm postgresql-libs.rpm postgresql-server.rpm postgresql-devel.rpm

Important note

Please make sure that the PostgreSQL server is stopped or at least doesn't
have any active connections during the update.
