Problem description

This update fixes a security problem in all versions prior to 2.6.1 that affects only people running a read/write daemon without having it configured to be chroot.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as a RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh rsync.rpm
If you do not start your rsync daemon via inetd, be sure to restart the daemon after updating the package:
rcrsyncd restart
