Problem description

After a review by the SuSE Security Team the Samba Team reviewed the client implementation, too, and uncovered various bugs which are fixed with this update.
Since there is no easy workaround, an update is strongly recommended.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as a RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh samba-client.rpm
