Indications

This patch should be installed on systems running OpenLDAP 2.

Problem description

This patch fixes two bugs in OpenLDAP 2.0.11 which could cause the server to stop immediately:
  • A wrong assert() statement in the code for the normalization of Attributes of the type "NumericString"
  • ACL evalutation for MODRDN operation didn't work as expected

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh openldap2.rpm
