Problem description

The manufacturer-PPDs package provides PPD files for PostScript printers from printer manufacturers that are under a free license. This updated manufacturer-PPDs package provides more and more up-to-date PPD files.
There is no need to install this updated manufacturer-PPDs package if you already have appropriate PPD files for your PostScript printers. On the other hand it should not cause problems to have more and more up-to-date PPDs available on your system which can be used to set up new print queues. Installing this package overwrites PPDs in /usr/share/cups/model/manufacturer-PPDs/ but does not overwrite PPDs which are used for existing queues in /etc/cups/ppd/.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh manufacturer-PPDs.rpm
