Description

This update fixes various problems and contains the following enhancements:
IBM code drop from 2003-09-04
  • ccwcache: Incorrect cache index determination. (IBM Problem-ID 3450)
  • siginfo_t structure on user stack incorrect. (IBM Problem-ID 3490)
  • dasd: erroneous message about failing DASD format. (IBM Problem-ID 3847)
  • dasd_diag: buggy CMS label recognition in fs/partitions/ibm.c. (IBM Problem-ID 3611)
  • Crash when using CTC tty with gcov. (IBM Problem-ID 4174)
  • Oops in IUCV code. (IBM Problem-ID 3314)
  • On demand timer patch: missing local irq disable. (IBM Problem-ID 2914)
The "IBM Problem-ID" numbers refer to IBM Developer Works documentation for the "August 2001 stream".
Further improvements
  • Reduce the value of QUEUE_NR_REQUESTS from 8192 to 128
  • Set the device type of /proc/tty/driver/tty3270 to char
Security fixes
  • Add a missing check for madvise(MADV_WILLNEED)
  • fix overflow problem in NFSv3 decode_fh
  • prevent possible DoS in netfilter code
  • fix several race conditions in procfs
IBM code drops
This update includes the following IBM code drops:
  • 2003-09-04 kernel 2.4.17 for the "August 2001 stream" (Patch 10)
