Problem description

Read Extended Attribute memory leak
There was a bug in the "read extended attribute" code where it would loose 16KB of memory each time someone read the extended attribute for a file. Most NCP clients don't create extended attributes on files unless they are copying windows files that already have them.
Other changes were added to better track memory usage and to use memory more efficiently for packet receive and packet reply buffers.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh novell-ncp.rpm novell-ncpserv.rpm
