Problem description

This security update contains a fix against a string buffer overflow in the address handling code, that is exploitable. A (memory) address on the stack can be modified to point into a user-modifiable buffer. The vulnerability was found by Joost Pol. The fix was announced on Jan 1 2002 by Thomas Roessler on the mutt-dev mailing list. Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.
