Indications

This update should be installed on systems with a running lisa server and on systems which are used as a client, i.e. using the konqueror "lan://" URL scheme.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

A remotely exploitable root security hole has been discovered in the lisa server. Additionally, a modified lisa server can be used to execute code on clients with the permissions of the user using konqueror's "lan://" scheme.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Uvh kdenetwork.rpm
