Indications

Everyone using SuSEfirewall2 and observing error messages for not yet configured network interfaces should install this update.

None.

Description

The parser for the ifconfig (network interface configuration tool) output in SuSEfirewall2 has been made more robust. It failed before when interfaces had no IP address assigned or had other irregularities. Additionally, reversed logic evaluation has been fixed.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh SuSEfirewall2.rpm
