Indications

Update if you use splitted NIS groups.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

newgrp contains a workaround which allow people with large groups,
which don't have a clean Linux environment which allows NIS groups larger
then 1024 characters, to use splitted NIS groups.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh pwdutils.rpm
