kbdrate: Failed waiting for kbd controller!

None.

Problem description

kbdrate used a timeout when waiting for the keyboard controller in order to allow booting of machines without keyboard. However, this timeout was dependent on the speed of the machine and could be too short. A different mechanism is used now, being machine independent. Furthermore a compose table compose.latin1.cedilla has been added which composes an accented c to cedilla.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as a RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Uvh kbd.rpm
