Indications

This update should be installed on multiprocessor PowerPC systems.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

This patch fixes problems with the Sleepycat DB libraries on multiprocessor
PowerPC systems. The locking code did not use the correct synchronisation
instructions, which led to breackage on PowerPC systems running OpenLDAP v2.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fhv db.rpm db-devel.rpm
