Problem description

This is a security fix for two different kinds of attacks against the RSA implementation:
  • a timing-based attack on RSA keys
  • an extension of the "Bleichenbacher attack" on RSA.
Remote attackers can compute the private RSA key by observing the timing behavior of services using openssl.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fhv openssl.rpm
