Problem description

This update fixes the escaping of HTML tags in frames contents and in image alt tags, that resulted in two cross site scripting vulnerabilities (CAN-2002-1335, CAN-2002-1348). In addition, the package contains a fix against a possible segfault that could occur when the terminal was not writable (for example after 'su -').

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Uvh w3m.rpm
