Problem description

This patch will update you system to SSP3 Level.
General changes:
  • Updated the image version to 2.3.12
  • Kernel version release changed to 7
  • New version for POSInitBranchserver.sh
  • Removed the kernel version string from the setup.user files
The patch contains the following bugfixes:
  • Bug 194043 - xdscr is not getting the "--nodeps" correct when creating a diff from the Image-rpm-list.
  • Bug 185492 - mac addresses scrolling on Branch console with posleases2ldap.
  • Bug 194169 - xdscr not handling version changes between images properly.
  • Bug 189431 - Scalability - initrd.gz needs to be smaller and can be to help with Network Saturation issues.
  • Bug 193272 - evdev.ko driver is removed from the client image kernel when evtouch.xml is removed.
  • Bug 193389 - xdscr doesn't give an error if the dist directory is not setup.
  • Bug 193387 - Trying to prepare an image without having the dist directory setup gives an useless error.
  • Bug 189351 - The --update-product-file option needs to be added to scr.
  • Bug 193397 - Image-rpm-list for the minimal image contains warnings.
  • Bug 194043 - xdscr is not getting the "--nodeps" correct when creating a diff from the Image-rpm-list.

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh POS_*.rpm
You can also use the SSP3 ISO images for installation. The ISOs can be found under:
