Indications

Everyone using ppc64 machines using NUMA optimizations (POWER5/6) should update.

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

Fix a libnuma problem on big endian 64bit system. This allows to use libnuma/numactl on 16+ core POWER systems.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fhv numactl.rpm
