Problem description

This update fixes a stack-based buffer overflow in tiffsplit that can be triggered with long filemanes (CVE-2006-2656) and a buffer overflow in tiff2pdf.
Both tools are not setuid but may be exploited in conjunction with other applications. Exploitation is very unlikely.


Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh tiff.rpm
