Release: 20061204
Obsoletes: none

Indications

Contraindications

None.

Problem description

There is an apparent memory leak in owcimomd that is causing OES Linux servers in NCS clusters to run out of memory and hang. This problem is seen on the node in the cluster which is hosting the Master_IP_Address_Resource. After leaking memory for several days (typically 7-10 days), this node will end up in a hung state. It will still respond to ping, but SSH sessions cannot connect. Some actions on a virtual terminal can be performed, but inter-cluster communication fails. This causes poison pills to be sent (but never received) and any resources on the hung node will go comatose.
