Problem description

When bfd_vma is bigger than the target pointer size then the .eh_frame_hdr processing does not correctly compute the sorted array due to missing sign extension. This happens on a 32 bit target when a 64 bit BFD is used. This leads to C++ exception handling not working correctly in some situations. Now signed values for offsets are used.

Solution

Please install the update provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh binutils.rpm
