Problem description

An integer overflow in the stream4 preprocessor of snort has been fixed. Remote attackers could exploit unpatched Snort Intrusion Detection Systems to execute arbitrary commands as user "root". Exploits are already available, installing this update is strongly recommended.

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh snort.rpm
