Indications

All systems using the scp client should update.

Problem description

The scp client accidentally allowed special characters in filenames to be
given by the server. This allowed evil servers to create files outside the
working directory under the privilege of the user running the scp client. This
bug has been fixed.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh openssh.rpm
