Problem description

This update fixes two memory leaks in the perl-Net_SSLeay module:

When repeatedly calling the load_error_strings() function the underlying OpenSSL call allocates memory each time the call is made, which can lead to a memory overflow. This problem is resolved by using a wrapper function which will call the underlying function only once.
The second leak is caused by not freeing a data structure, which is now eliminated within the appropriate functions.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as a RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fhv perl-Net_SSLeay.rpm
