Problem description

This update provides a 64bit bash.
Kernel interfaces such as ulimit for 64bit child processes expect 64bit values. A 64bit binary is required to set values larger than 4GB. A 32bit value would be handled as "unlimited".

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh bash.rpm
