When syslogd logs to /dev/tty10, it is created as a file.



Problem description

On machines without virtual consoles syslogd tries to log to
/dev/tty10. As this device does not exist, it is created as a file.


Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

Installation notes

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:
rpm -Fvh syslogd.rpm
