Problem description

Various buffer overflows within MPlayer have been fixed. These include fixes
for the ASF-streaming overflow, the RTSP heap overflow and the BMP parsing
heap overflow. These bugs could allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary
code as the user running MPlayer.

Solution

Please install the updates provided at the location noted below.

This update is provided as an RPM package that can easily be installed onto a running system by using this command:


rpm -Fvh MPlayer.rpm
